Actually, the virus had most likely been incubating inside of me for several days, hijacking my cells for use as war rooms and meeting with copies of itself to finalize its Friday afternoon plan of attack. And to be fair, only ~50% of all common colds are caused by rhinoviruses, but rhinos still take the brunt of the blame.
My modus operandi when sick is to mope around feeling sorry for myself while I expel vast quantities of mucus from my nasal cavities. So instead of crafting delicious cookies, I sat on the couch, played "Angry Birds," and read Sookie Stackhouse novels. Really productive, I know.
Still, I do have a recipe for you! When my boyfriend called his parents yesterday and told them I was sick, his mom suggested he brew an old French remedy for me. (It might not truly be an old French remedy, but his parents are French, so let's just roll with it).
Old French Remedy for Battling Colds
1. Boil some water
2. Juice the lemon
3. Mix the water with the lemon juice and add some rum. I don't know how much, since my boyfriend didn't actually make this for me. Figures.
